Holly sculpted this life-sized piece after a field trip to Exmoor national park in 2023 during the rutting season.
Moved by the rugged landscape, both craggy hard rocky outcrops and soft rolling moorland of heather, Holly invested these characteristics into the handling and feeling of this powerful sculpture.
“On the hills of Dunkery Beacon I was struck by the power of these majestic creatures as they watch over their harem of hinds. As night fell their presence was still keenly felt as the valleys filled with the sound of their bellowing roars .”
